Costa’s Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
Just had lunch at that place on University Wy. It was pretty nice, really good food overall – the bacon burger was amazing. But honestly, the prices felt a little high for the portions. I only left feeling kinda full after spending $32. The service was great though, super attentive. Maybe check their website for menus, the prices on the app seemed inflated.
Just had lunch at Cosmo’s in the U District. It was pretty busy, but we got seated fairly quickly. The Bacon Burger was really good – definitely a solid choice. I thought the prices were a little high for what you get, though. The portion sizes felt a little small for the price. The place was really bright and airy with all the plants, which was a nice change. Maybe a little more variety in the side dishes would be good!
Good food, but I'm not convinced about the value. I was anticipating the prices that are currently displayed on singleplatform, but I should have checked their website itself. Singleplatform has appetizers in the $6-$9 range and it's really $10-12, so it must be really outdated or a different portion size. The $11.95 chicken souvlaki was one skewer with 4 bite-sized pieces of chicken + veg with some tomato salad and maybe 3-4oz tzatziki. My special ($16.95) was tasty, but again, I'm not sure the portion size was worth this. My friend's sandwich, the San Francisco Melt ($17.95) at least had a portion size that was filling. $32 for the special and the souvlaki and I was only kind of full Very nice and attentive server (who was also serving a table of 10 college guys) Nice ambience, especially for lunch with the dining room mostly empty.
Just had lunch at 182 Ranch Drive in Milpitas. It was really nice – the dining room was pretty empty which made for a relaxed atmosphere. Our server was super attentive, handling a big group of college students too! I got the special and it was good, but honestly, the portion size felt a little small for the price. I think the menu prices could be clearer, especially since they differ from what’s shown elsewhere. Parking was easy, which was a bonus.
Dropped in here unplanned. So happy we did! The restaurant was empty at around 4P on a weekday. All the food was fresh and tasted amazing. The seasoning was superb like on the Greek potatoes, and I had lots of meat on the gyro plate. The burger in the pic was ordered no cheese or mayo and it was cooked perfectly and surprisingly lean yet juicy. I must make sure to mention that the tsaziki sauce was well seasoned and the cheese on the gyro plate was plentiful as you can see. I got the beef soup instead of the salad and was very pleased as it was hearty and homemade. I drank the broth when it was done, of course I had to salt it but I like oversalting food. The baklava was too cinnamon for us and I didn't picture it even though it was perfectly flaky. That was probably just a palate preference on our part. We had coffee and unsweetened iced tea which was a nice strong tea, obviously brewed in-house. Will absolutely return again!!!
I really like Costas. As a student back in the early 00’s I would come here. I think there was a little market or deli next store. What’s interesting about Costas is that it looks like it never got a refresh. It’s like being back in time and I love this. The brunch is my go to and it gives me Greek American vibes. I really enjoy the souvlaki. It’s cooked well and I feel like I’m at someone home who’s cooking me brunch. The price point is adjusted for inflation and service has always been great. It’s a spot in which you hear professors and students talking about physics, or college kids figuring out how to split a check. The bathroom is old and it reminds me of 80’s/90’s bathrooms. I really like this because it’s not fancy. Ifs slight grimy but it has character and it’s clean. I like how it’s not been updated. It’s like seeing shag carpet at an old diner. 5 star for the nostalgia factor.
Great lunch option in U District. Prices were good for the area. Got the Bacon Burger and Cheeseburger, both with fries. Went midday on a Wednesday, was slow but food came out quick and was delicious. Windows were open, so a beautiful breeze came in. The music was relaxing, and the server was very kind. A pleasant restaurant, will happily go again.
This place hit it out of the park. My Greek friend said it was good as it mothers. Huge portions for the price. Definitely on the rotation of excellent restaurants.
